July – Ingleton 1940s Weekend

Yet another warm sunny day, but an early start in the North Yorkshire Dales where we were joined by several members of the Accrington Pipe Band.

Our first performance was a short march to and from the cenotaph for a memorial service. On our way back out of the village we stopped for an impromptu request to play outside the Curlew Crafts Tea Room.

In the afternoon we headed a parade around the village starting from the Ingleborough Community Centre onto Back Gate then back along Main Street which ended in a packed village centre where Churchill made a speech. After some 40s dancing we performed again to the crowds before marching away to Auld Lang Syne.

The final performance of the day was in the Community Centre in car park.
